Their story stays yours.
Evertail is built around a private, local archive for your dogs and cats. This policy explains what the iPhone and iPad app stores — including profiles, memories, Preserve progress, Paw Signals, Whisker Signals and Care Rhythm — what it does not collect remotely, how purchases are handled, and what happens when you choose to export, back up or contact support.
Pet profiles, memories, Preserve progress, signals, Care Rhythm records and app-owned media are stored in Evertail’s private on-device storage.
The app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking domains or Evertail account system.
Backups, Life Books and Director films leave Evertail only when you explicitly export or share them; the archive itself is not uploaded to an Evertail service.
The short version
Evertail does not operate a cloud account or remote memory service. Your dog and cat profiles, memories, Preserve progress, Paw Signals, Whisker Signals and Care Rhythm history are created and maintained locally on your iPhone or iPad. Evertail does not sell your information, does not use it for targeted advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Information kept in your Evertail archive
When you create content in Evertail, the app stores the information necessary to build and display your archive. Depending on what you choose to add, this may include:
- Pet profile information: pet name, species (dog or cat), birth date (optional), the date you became family, a final day (optional), profile photo, profile creation date and optional details such as sex, breed, coat/markings, favorite place, favorite toy, signature sound and personality, plus an activity routine for dogs or an indoor/outdoor lifestyle for cats.
- Memory and Preserve information: memory title, note/story text, date, media type, favorite status, Preserve-prompt reference, creation date and Preserve-prompt completion/progress information.
- Paw Signals, Whisker Signals and Care Rhythm: behavior observations you log (such as signal type, time, intensity, context, note and unusual flag) and care records you add (such as care type, time, optional amount/unit, detail, note and mark-for-review flag).
- Media and local app preferences: photos, videos and audio recordings you choose to keep are copied into Evertail’s private app-owned media directory. Functional preferences, such as the selected pet, language, appearance and other app settings, are also stored locally.
This archive data is used to provide Evertail’s features on your device. It is not uploaded to an Evertail server. Signals and Care Rhythm are local factual journals; Evertail does not use those records to diagnose or treat a health condition.
Photos, videos, camera and microphone
Photo and video library
Evertail uses Apple’s system photo picker when you choose an existing photo or video. This lets you select a specific item without Evertail requesting broad, ongoing access to your entire photo library. The selected item is copied into the app’s private archive only after you choose it.
Camera
Camera access is requested only when you choose to capture a new photo or video from inside Evertail. Captured media is used for the memory you are creating and is stored in the app’s private archive.
Microphone
Microphone permission is requested only when you choose to record a sound memory. Evertail records the audio locally and keeps the accepted recording in the private archive.
In-app purchases and subscriptions
Premium features are purchased through Apple’s StoreKit. Evertail requests product information from the App Store and uses verified purchase and entitlement state to decide which premium features are available.
- Apple handles billing: your Apple Account, payment method, card details, receipts and billing relationship are handled by Apple. Evertail does not receive your full payment-card information.
- Entitlement status: the app processes StoreKit product identifiers and verified transaction/entitlement state as needed to unlock purchases and restore them.
- Restore / update purchases: when you choose this action, Evertail asks the App Store to synchronize or query your current purchases and entitlements.
- Links that open outside the app: the in-app upgrade screen can open Apple’s subscription-management page, Apple’s standard license agreement and this Privacy Policy in your browser or the App Store.
Apple’s handling of store, account and payment data is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices and terms.
Backups, Director, Life Book and sharing
Standard backups
A standard Evertail backup is free and created locally. It can include pet profiles, memories, Preserve completion/progress, Paw Signals, Whisker Signals, Care Rhythm records and referenced app-owned media. Evertail can also restore supported backups made by earlier PawChapter versions. A standard backup is not password-encrypted by Evertail, so treat it as sensitive and store it in a location you trust.
Password-protected backups
If you choose the optional encrypted-backup feature, Evertail encrypts the backup locally using AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your password. Evertail does not transmit or retain your backup password on a developer server. If you lose that password, Evertail cannot recover the encrypted backup for you.
Director and Life Book
Director films and Life Book PDFs are rendered locally on your device from memories and information you select. Director can use up to 40 photo/video memories for a film, and Life Book builds its pages from selected archive content. Temporary export files are created in the app cache and are pruned automatically.
When you export or share
Evertail uses Apple’s system document and share interfaces so that you choose the destination. Once a backup, film, PDF or other exported file is saved to Apple Files/iCloud Drive, another cloud provider, a messaging app, an email app or any other destination, that copy is controlled by the destination you selected and is subject to that provider’s privacy practices.
Network use, analytics, advertising and tracking
Evertail does not include analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs and does not contain any application endpoint that uploads your archive. The Evertail privacy manifest declares tracking disabled and no collected data types. The app communicates with Apple’s StoreKit for purchases; the links described above open in your browser or the App Store only when you tap them.
| Feature | Current Evertail behavior | Where data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Pet profiles, memories & Preserve progress | Stored for archive and Preserve functionality | Private on-device app storage |

When you contact Evertail Support
Evertail is developed by Luke Garrison. The seller is The Spiritual Seek - Personality Tests, located at via Milano - Roma, Italy. The privacy/support contact is lukegarrison.dev@gmail.com.
Contacting support is optional and separate from the private archive inside the app. If you submit the Evertail support form, the developer receives the information you intentionally provide, such as your name, email address, support category, subject, optional app/device details and message.
That information is used to respond to your request, diagnose the issue, maintain correspondence and protect the support form from abuse. It is not sold or used for advertising.
The support form uses an essential PHP session for CSRF protection and rate limiting. It does not include advertising or analytics trackers. Your hosting/network provider may still generate ordinary technical access/security logs as part of operating the website.
Retention and deletion
- In-app archive: profiles, memories, Preserve progress, signals, Care Rhythm records and app-owned media stay on your device until you edit/delete them or remove the app.
- Deleting a memory, record or pet: Evertail removes the corresponding app-owned archive records and media as part of the deletion flow; deleting a pet removes that pet’s associated archive, including its memories, Preserve links/progress, signals and care records.
- Deleting Evertail: removes the app’s private local archive through the normal iOS app-removal process, unless you separately exported a backup or other files.
- Exported copies: backups, films, PDFs or other copies you saved outside Evertail remain wherever you placed them until you delete them there.
- Support correspondence: may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse and maintain a record of the support request. You may request deletion where applicable.
- Store purchase records: App Store records are maintained by Apple according to Apple’s retention policies and legal obligations.
Security
Evertail uses the iOS application sandbox and app-owned storage for its local archive. The app validates imported media and backups, checks backup integrity, constrains archive extraction, and verifies premium purchase state through StoreKit. Archive Check also verifies database integrity/links and the availability/readability of app-owned media locally without uploading the archive. Password-protected backups use modern authenticated encryption as described above.
No storage or security method can guarantee absolute protection. Keep your device protected, maintain trusted backups, and handle exported standard backups carefully because they are outside Evertail’s private sandbox once exported.
Children’s privacy
Evertail does not require an in-app account and does not send the local archive to an Evertail server. If a child or parent contacts support, the information intentionally included in that support request is handled as described in the Support section. A parent or guardian may contact the developer to request access to or deletion of support correspondence where applicable.
Your privacy choices and rights
Most Evertail content is under your direct control because it remains on your device. You can edit or delete memories, signals and Care Rhythm entries, delete pet profiles, remove the app, or choose whether to create/export backups.
For personal information you voluntarily send to Evertail Support, applicable privacy laws may give you rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection. You can make a request using the contact details below. Identity verification may be required before acting on a request.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Evertail’s features, data practices or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will be updated when a material revision is published. If a future version introduces materially different collection or transmission of personal information, the policy and the App Store privacy disclosures should be updated accordingly.
