Dogs and cats, side by side

Switch between Dogs and Cats at the top of the app. Each profile keeps a name, the day you became family, an optional birthday, a profile photo and optional details such as sex, breed, coat, favorite place, favorite toy, signature sound and personality — plus an activity routine for dogs and an indoor/outdoor lifestyle for cats. You can also record a final day to honor a pet who has passed. One dog and one cat are free; more pets of the same species need More pets or Evertail Plus.

Memories in four formats

Keep stories, photos, videos and sounds, each with a title, date, note and favorite star. Find them on the Life timeline by searching titles and notes, or filter by Favorites, Photos, Videos, Sounds and Stories. Photos and videos you choose, capture or record are copied into Evertail’s private app storage.

Preserve prompts

Use 65 guided prompts written for dogs and 65 written for cats to notice and keep the details that are easy to forget — sounds, movement, routines, expressions and the little things only you know. Completed prompts stay linked to the memories you create.

Paw Signals & Whisker Signals

Log behavior across 23 dog-specific signal types or 23 cat-specific ones, with time, intensity, context, a note and an optional “unusual” flag. A weekly summary compares this week with last week and shows the most logged signal and the busiest time of day. Signals are observations, not diagnoses.

Care Rhythm

Keep a factual care journal with 14 record types for dogs and 12 for cats — including meals, water, weight, medication, grooming, vomiting, vet visits and health notes, plus walks, potty breaks and dental and ear care for dogs, or litter-box visits, claw care and hairballs for cats. It is a record, not a diagnosis or treatment tool.

Archive Check & control

Run Archive Check to verify profiles, memories, records and database links, and to confirm that app-owned photos, videos and sounds are still present and readable — all on your device. You can edit or delete memories, signals and care records, remove a pet profile, choose among 20 app languages, and use Light, Dark or System appearance.

Evertail’s creation tools work from memories you have already kept. They do not invent or rewrite your pets’ history; they help you shape the real material you chose to keep.

Director

Build a memory film from up to 40 of your photo and video memories in 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9. Arrange the storyboard, aim for 30 seconds, 60 seconds or the full story, and pick a Warm, Classic or Minimal style, a transition (clean cut, soft dissolve or memory fade) and captions with the title, the date or both. Choose Fit or Fill and a focal point for each clip, trim videos, and optionally use one of your sound memories as the soundtrack. Preview a draft before rendering at full quality.

Life Book

Create a printable PDF from the active pet’s entire life, their Favorites, a selected set or a date range. Choose Warm, Classic or Minimal styling, A4 or US Letter, Compact or Print quality and a cover, add a dedication, and decide whether to show dates, prompt context, a contents page and year dividers. Preview the pages first. Evertail organizes the real archive without inventing or rewriting it.

Privacy by design

A personal archive should feel personal.

Evertail is built around a local archive on your iPhone or iPad rather than an Evertail cloud account. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, declares no tracking and no collected data types in its Apple privacy manifest, and does not contact any Evertail server.

No Evertail account required. Your archive — profiles, memories, Preserve progress, signals and care history — lives in the app’s private storage on your device.

Local creation. Director films and Life Books are rendered on your device before you decide where to save or share the result.

Apple-managed billing. Purchases use Apple’s StoreKit. Apple handles your Apple Account and payment method; Evertail unlocks features only from StoreKit-verified purchases.

Optional exports. You choose if and where a backup, film, PDF or other copy leaves the app.

Built for the long run

Your archive stays yours. Your backups stay in your hands.

Standard Evertail backups are free and created on your device. A backup includes pet profiles, memories, Preserve progress, signals, care records and app-owned media, and can be restored on an iPhone or iPad. Evertail can also restore backups made by earlier versions of PawChapter. The optional Forever Backup unlock adds password-based AES-256-GCM protection; Evertail cannot recover a forgotten backup password.
